When you lease an apple tree from Little Dog Orchard for $50.00, we assign you a specific tree and take care of it for you throughout the growing season. We have just over 200 trees available for lease this year, and you can choose between either a Red Delicious (so crisp and sweet) or an Empire (more tart than the Reds, but still on the sweet end of the spectrum).

We blog about the orchard so that you can check in and see how the trees are doing anytime you like. Send us questions and comments - we always learn from them!

As we’re approaching harvest time, we’ll send you an email. Then just let us know when you want to come pick your apples from your tree. (We can be here almost any time and day of the week with enough notice.) Our trees can produce as much as 300 lbs. of apples, so bring a lot of boxes and bags! This year we’re going to try to work with a local company to make some fun apple treats with unsold apples. We also work with UlsterCorps to donate lots of apples to food banks. We even send inedible fruit to the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. Drop us a note if you ever want to get involved with the volunteer activities.

Little Dog Orchard is located about 90 minutes north of NYC and easily accessible via bus or train. If you want to drive, we’re just minutes off the NY State Thruway at exit 18. Directions can be found here.

And for all you city dwellers who just can’t get it together to come visit us in person, we’ll be arranging (for a small additional charge) several in-city drop off dates when you can come to a pre-determined location and collect 20 lbs. of apples from your tree.
